==Initial Post==

Hello dear Journal !!!

It has been over a week since last I wrote anything in you. There is always so much action in New Babbage that I can scarcest find the time to sit still long enough to write.

The biggest thing that has happened is that the Slenderman has been trapped! So many helped in this effort but I think that Miss Heinrichs was the bravest. She offered herself up as bait to trap the fiend using defensive mind blocks as her only weapon. I do not know if I could have done that. In any case, the clan sword, standard katanas and Tesla rifles won the day and sent the defeated Slenderman back to the graveyard where it was promptly entrapped by Mr. Footman’s device. Oh happy day!

Not long after Master Pocket, against all common sense, wandered into the graveyard and was caught up the field generated by the trap. He was later extracted and seems none the worse for wear. I wonder what got into his head to do that?

I later assisted Mr. Footman in transferring the Slenderman into a portable version of the trap. I understand that it will be taken to Antarctica shortly. While not as cold as hell, it will do.

Mr. Footman has blown up carefully dismantled the device and the grave yard is slowly returning to normal. I hope to re-sanctify the place and then perhaps restore the rescued spirits back to their graves. Perhaps I can even persuade Mr. Somerset in dropping the wards as the original four spirits and Miss Hienrichs are close friends now.

Miss Hienrichs does not have all of the rescued spirits. I have kept one who came to me at the last moment, perhaps urged on by Mrs. Barry. Her name is Tasha and she was an upstairs ladies’ maid when she died from a fall at the tender age of sixteen. She has an acute sense of ladies fashion and we have had several discussions about the bustle burning activities of the LLL.

Ah yes, The Ladies Liberty League. Quiet the social group. Led on in part by my dear and closest friend Lia they have certainly raised a fuss within the community. While supporting the cause since I have always been the equal of the shrine maidens and novice monks, I find bustle burning an unusual exercise. But I want to help Lia find her way in both her social and her personal lives so I am glad to join the struggle. Forward the cause together Ladies!!!

I find myself playing the taiko drums and my shamisen more often lately. While the practice centers and calms me, I wonder if I am growing homesick. A letter from home would be nice. It is July and the Star Festival has taken place already and the Umi no hi holiday is coming up soon. Before you know it will be mid August and the O-bon will be upon us. Perhaps we can get the grave yard project completed before then and I could celebrate from there. That would be nice….

None the worse for wear? He’s in a coma. Another of Footman’s unintended casualties.

Might I remind you Clockwinder he went into an area that was *clearly* marked with a sign to stay out.
