After patching up Mr. Kuroe’s stump and seeing to his transfer to the hospital, and the blood tranfusion to replace lost plasma, (helping myself to a spleen from the morgue for a future project) I returned home to examine and repair #13. I must have fallen asleep on my couch again, (not surprising as the last few days, the sleep pattern I trained myself on had been thrown out of whack) as I found myself back at the hospital, surrounded by many of the ladies of Babbage, in some very breif version of a nurse’s uniform, all clinging and congradulating me on some difficult procedure, then the captian of the militia and clockwinder suddenly appearing to promote me to General of the Militia and present me with the key to the city respectively as
Miss Macbain in some burlesque costume replaced the nurses dancing around me….then I noticed they all had pale webbed hands, as they started grabbing at me, figures I had went and let my guard down and they got through. I knew it was too good to be true, Miss Macbain would never be quite that….
I fought them off, running down a blackened tunnel, where I heard their croaking behind me. coming close and I was running out of breath before finally reaching the ward and waking up in a cold sweat.

I stepped to the back door breathing heavily, and saw the dark figure flit in the graveyard. At that point, I decided I could really use a drink, and headed to the Gangplank

You and I —> R E A L L Y <— need to sit down, share some sake, and have a long chat. It needs to be far away from the graveyard also. Without giving the impression that I am a wanton hussy, might I suggest my flat in Clockhaven rather than your lab?

Good Lord! Is Mr. Footman now the closest thing New Babbage has to an actual physician?

Your visions are remarkably similar to mine, young man… are you related to the Crumbs or the Bolvags?

well, there was an Ebinezer Thadius Crumb way back who was assistant to my great great grandfather and the first head to dog transplant patient (at least the first not to attempt suicide afterwards), but relation? no I don’t beleive so
