The New Champagne Rooms were engulfed in flames Sunday evening. Despite the best efforts of the New Babbage Ladies Fire Brigade, the building appears to be a total loss. Miss Ahnyanka Delphin was rescued from inside and taken to hospital, but will hopefully make a full recovery quickly. Suspicion for the start of the fire has fallen on Mrs. Elvira Foehammer, who was taken in to a form of protective custody by Father Pizzaro.

oh dear! it was such a nice building too….. but… Father Pizzaro..? who’s gonna protect Mrs Foehammer against him?

Thank you, Book, for this posting. The fire was well established when the Brigade arrived. I was able to put out a few fires on the roof with my Merryman fire ship, but the fire was too intense. It was suspicious that we did not have enough water, even though our fire equipment was in excellent condition.
Book modestly did not include that she rescued Miss Delphin from inside the building. Her heroism is duly noted in the Brigade log book. Jed directed the operation and prevented a worse catastrophe.

The explosion must have generated an unusual amount of force. I found a street light lying in the walk between city hall and the park.

((Good textures are hard time find, and good ones tend to be a bit expensive. Though I got one I like a lot at Textures R Us.))
