With a heavy heart, dear friends of Babbage, I bid all farewell for now. The gifts of fun, good friendships and kindred spirits will stay with me forever! Special thanks to Mayor Tenk who was a real skeptic when I told him we intended to bring a Carnival to town many months prior to its opening…He was kind and more helpful than anyone may have been aware. Cleanslate for your incredible marketing and graphic savvy…and so so many other whose creativity is nothing short of brilliant, let alone consistent. Joy Tremor and LIlli, the Captain himself and the entire troupe of Carnivale are off to explore the world and seek more adventures for now. Also RL beckons some attention at present.
Thank you one and all for the good times and incredible memories of one of the most intriguing and extraordinary experiences we have ever seen in SL!

Oh Captain… Babbage will not be the same without all of you. Thank you so much for bringing such a spark of glamour to our sooty streets. I do hope your travel brings you all round to us again.

The Value of a smile

A smile cost nothing, but gives much.
It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and is nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.
