Yesterday the Babbage Militia violated our sovereignty and our laws and violated our boarders to come in and take Ashiko who, knowing he’d never get a fair shake in Babbage, had sought safe haven here.
We are not part of Babbage. That troll, Tenk, does not rule here. We are a sovereign state. The Babbage Militia has no authority to come and arrest ANYONE in Steelhead. Yet, that is what they did. What happened to Ashiko’s right to an extradition hearing? To a fair trial? This move by Babbage is an insult to Lord Lunar, to Sheriff Ortega, and all of the citizens of Steelhead! It is nothing short of an act of war by Babbage against Steelhead. If we do not act, then we might as well declare that we have been annexed by Babbage and submit ourselves to the tyranny of the Troll, but I say – LONG LIVE STEELHEAD and LONG LIVE THE ELF!
((Okay just so everyone knows, I felt bad calling Tenk a troll, but IC Mara hates Tenk. And go look at Steelhead’s Ning if you want to see what I’ve been doing that keeps me so busy and away from SL))

still thinks that Steelhead really wanted their buildings to burn

How darling, Razor, you’re turning into me. Troll, indeed. Bravo, I never thought I’d see the day when you of all people would call for war. It’s always the children who suffer most in such circumstances…they do dissapear so easily in the chaos *smiles.*

dozes off
*Comment by Mr. Tenk on May 24, 2010 at 12:14pm
yeah, yeah… just because redwoods are fireproof on the outside… effing treehuggers.
*Comment by Grendel Footman on May 24, 2010 at 12:24pm
all the civilians and then Armada folk that showed up during the arrest, would have been easier to just shell the building and pull him out the wreckage before any sightseers came
*Comment by Softpaw on May 24, 2010 at 12:49pm
What building was he found in? I was off in my fae realm ((literally, I was playing a fairy at Oklahoma ren faire)) over the weekend and this is the first I have learned of ANY of this.
*Comment by Mara Razor on May 24, 2010 at 1:28pm
He was taken at the tea house in Shanghai.
Mrs. Underby – let the record show that I fought valiently and was injured in the Battle Against Obloensky (I know I just butchered that spelling). When the safety and freedom of my home are at stake – I fight because I know that ulltimately I am fighting for the freedom of them whom I love – my darling scamps.
Really? In what way is the Troll and Babbage any better than Ashiko? He broke the law. So, have you all in invading Steelhead.
But, also let the record show, that if any harm come to one that I call mine (Myrtil, Jimmy, Tsula, Zaida, LO) I will come looking for you first and formost. I am fae kind, I do not lie.
DEATH TO THE TROLL! LONG LIVE THE ELF!

((Did Tenk really just say effing? Did they say that back in the 1800’s? Hehe))

Mara, Ashiko burned down the ‘Plank with poor Maggie inside of it, destroyed Elle’s building and took down one of Ceejay’s places as well. Is this the sort creature you really want to be protecting?

The Troll and Babbage sounds like a great pub name.

errr… does this mean i can’t wander over to Steelhead when i feel like it?
*Comment by Cadmus Lupindo on May 24, 2010 at 7:37pm
Ha ha ha ha! I would have volunteered to help arrest the rabbit if I knew it would get Mara’s knickers in a twist. I have stocked up on an assortment of “specialty” ammunition for all occasions.

It appears she’s gone off the deep end. Hmm It appears this point of view is quite popular too. Any citizen of New Babbage who has arsonist ambitions on Steelhead properties should perhaps take note?

the mayor has said he will cut one of mister kuroe’s legs off, rather… it is quite barbaric!
*Comment by Ceejay Writer on May 25, 2010 at 12:07am
All I know is he burnt down my factory and I have no means of gaining compensation unless a lawyer steps forward to help me. I wasn’t insured *glares again at Cleanslate*. And, hmm? So we’re at war with EyeCandyLand Steelhead now? Huh. *pours another drink*
*Comment by Mr. W—— on May 26, 2010 at 2:49pm
War? Again?? Hmmm…where do I sign up?
*Comment by Remington Thursday on May 27, 2010 at 1:00pm
It should be known that the so called “Babbage Militia” merrily dragged off Mr. Kuroe as they left his cohort standing with a knife to my wife’s throat. I can’t imagine that that would be the sort of group I would allow to decide whether or not a person is guilty of a crime.
I should hope that this sort of vigilante justice would not be representative of the New Babbage social policy. I can only assume that the perpetrators were acting on their own accord and, should they be seen in Armadan waters, will be dealt with accordingly.
*Comment by Mr Underby on May 27, 2010 at 1:10pm
Your wife is not the concern of our city’s militia, Mr Thursday, the aim was to apprehend someone who committed an act of violence against our sovereign city. We have no business, nor desire, to police the world.
I would suggest you purchase a pistol, or learn to box.
*Comment by Remington Thursday on May 27, 2010 at 1:23pm
Have no fear, sir. I am perfectly competent at both.
Thankfully, we were able to extract her from the situation without harm. Still, too bad the militia had to take the coward’s way out. Especially under pretense of ‘not our problem’.
I am sorry that I wasn’t able to chat with the.. ahem… gentlemen regarding my martial prowess. I was a bit engaged at the time.
Of course, it would also have been a bit unsporting, as the only side of the militia I could see was the back. I will be sure to take the earliest opportunity to address your concerns as to my abilities.
*Comment by Mr Underby on May 27, 2010 at 1:28pm
I suspect you misunderstand the purpose of a militia.
I will, however, be happy to convey your ill feelings to our mayor. While he is picking his teeth with the bones of Mr Kuroe, I’m sure he will give the matter plenty of reasonable thought.

Indeed. And, should he come across the outlaws responsible for leaving my wife to die, be sure let him know that I will be happy to have them over for dinner, myself. Though the meal may be a bit more meager.
*Comment by Mr Underby on May 27, 2010 at 1:38pm
Perhaps you might relate their names, in case I should come across them myself.
*Comment by Remington Thursday on May 27, 2010 at 1:41pm
I will ask among the crew. Perhaps they caught a name in passing or we can provide sketches. I will forward them to you and to the Clockwinder forthwith.
*Comment by Mr Underby on May 27, 2010 at 1:51pm
Much obliged.
*Comment by Ryne Beck on May 31, 2010 at 3:04pm
I am shocked! How can a great city such as Babbge falls so far as to send goons to snatch people from the streets of their neighbours? You are above this, my friends!
*Comment by Grendel Footman on May 31, 2010 at 3:59pm
just for the record, I didn’t fully agree with leaving a hostage like that, but orders were orders
