Just before the supper hour, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Ezra Crumb II, while on his rounds about the town, poked his head into Mr. W——‘s Emporium. “Hey there young man!” he called out to Mr. W——.
Mr. W—— started at the scratchy old voice, and turned. “Yes?” he asked.
“Have you ever seen me before, lad?” the Emperor asked.
Mr. W—— thought for a moment, then answered, “No. I have not seen you before.”
“Then,” cried the Emperor. “how do you know I am me?”
Mr. W—— blinked, and thought about that.
