The Wilde-Huxley Installation

==Initial Post==

The hospital is getting more and more attention lately, which I’m glad of, but the facility itself is a rather small converted old estate house. And the most recent affair with the patient Ashiko Kuroe, along with one or two bodies missing from the morgue, convinced me that a more secure environment is in order.

When I first arrived in town with Doctor Starchaser Snowpaw, we considered establishing his laboratory in an undersea facility, for privacy and for safety, should anything unfortunate emerge from the lab. Being new in town, we had not the resources to take possession of an existing facility nor build our own.

But now I have those resources. Recently an abandoned facility has come up for sale, and I’ve purchased it. I will be expanding it greatly and custom-building a new Wilde Hospital out of undersea modules. It will feature an airship and boat dock at the surface, a pneumatic tube from the wharf near the Fire Brigade and Library, and access from the Vernian Tunnels. The undersea environment should provide a naturally restful backdrop for recuperation, and the sea provides easy access to sponges, leeches, seaweed wraps, and other utilitarian items.

Over the next few weeks, I will be moving first Huxley Fellowship Hall and then Wilde Hospital into the facility. I hope everyone will bear with me during that time, and I hope you will tour the new location once it opens!

Oh, don’t tell Mr. Mornington that more land is soon to be available in Academy.

It’s too far away from Brunel Hall I would think… but it seems like a lot of academy lands are available.

Brunel can still sprout buds.

Now I’m envisioning Brunel Hall with a root system…sending out one tendril after another, that suddenly shoot up above ground, creating yet another building extension…soon, it takes over the whole city, and we have to rename it New Brunel…

And evidently, I didn’t get enough sleep this weekend. *grin*

I, for one, would be extremely grateful for a tour of these propsed new facilities – good luck in the move, sir!
