A rural runaway drawn to the excitement and noise of the big city. Nat Merit escaped a life of boredom to run free in the streets, rooftops and sewers of New Babbage. Nat is a curious, but grubby, street urchin who loves to learn and can’t resist a mystery. Sometimes found sweeping chimneys, other times listening in on conversations or sneaking into private premises to read their books (and possibly block their chimney).
He helped form the ’13 and Below club’ which is the urchins counter argument to the 13club and unfortunately lost his leg thanks to the Homunculus-Beast later on.
