Dr. Joseph “Joe” Foehammer was the director of the Dunsany Institution. He was a contemporary and friend of Ezra Crumb until they had a falling out over methodological differences. His wife turned on him, leading the campaign to shut down his Institution, and took his young son with her, neither of whom he ever saw again.
