many should have heard, the Royal Mail Air Ship
King George III went down in the North Atlantic as it was on
approach to the Mintaka Floating Port. No survivors or corpses
have been recovered. It is my sad duty to inform you that 3rd
Sgt. P. Underwood was on that ship. My last communication from him as
am very pleased to inform you that I have been assigned to the State
Department of Texas for my final sixmonth, and given a diplomatic
pouch to deliver, by way of the RMAS K. Geo. III with a
special embassy passage, to none other than our own Major Oldrich! My
journals have been previously posted. I look very much forward to
docking at one of the [Atlantic] Necklace stops, perhaps Alnilak but
most likely the smaller Mintaka; twelve hours on an organized
floating city a magnitude of difference from the hod-podge of Armada,
then on to the Floating City of New Caledon and familiar. I hope you
can meet me, if not I will make haste to visit after my Republican
duties are discharged.
As per previous discussion I have decided to take your advice and
spend two weeks in Steelhead visiting family and friends; to be
undertaken immediately after our interview.
There is no evidence of fire, so it is possible the King George made a controled landing in the sea and the passengers survived. Rescue ships in the air and the surface are searching where they went down. There is always hope.
