He didn’t know why he returned to Babbage.
A curious town, it had drawn him before with its cobbled streets and sooty buildings. Rumors of mysterious letters and drawings on walls had drawn him then. A soft spot for needing to know the unknown. That and now a new set of rumors drew him once again.
It would have been impossible for their not not to be rumors if what he’d heard were true; bodies, several found around town. The bit of the cat however sat not well to him. Of course he didn’t know the cat, but every so often the personae of a stranger encountered stands out.
And surely a cat in clothes is one a body would note.
He didn’t seem like a killer. Just did not. And so, Babbage had became his new port of call.
