Tesla was awesome, here’s why

Nikola Tesla was awesome.

Thomas Edison wasn’t.

*Tesla lived in a time when the world demanded results that were practical and profitable.*

Not much has changed I’m afraid. The world still doesn’t want radio astronomy… it wants a little blue pill stamped with Pfizer.

I have always admired Tesla, his designs always seemed to have an intrinsic elegance. He was, however, from the start, a half bubble off plumb.

Gasp !!!  WOW .. that is SO YOU Doc ..

meaning  You really could  have wrote the whole thing .

I especially enjoyed  the “Nicest Inventor ever”  label for Tesla = quite true  :)

I am also a  fan of Westinghouse for .. well many reasons, one being ..

“Despite all of Edison’s efforts, and despite his attempts to persuade General Electric otherwise, the superiority of the AC current was too much for Edison and his DC system to overcome. In 1893, Westinghouse was awarded the contract to light the Chicago World’s Fair, bringing all the positive publicity he would need to make alternating current the industry standard. For his part, Edison later admitted that he regretted not taking Tesla’s advice.”

Edison’s labs invented the electric chair (don’t know if it was Edison personally) as part of his smear campaign on AC. When the chair was taken up as a form of execution Edison campaigned to have “execution by electric chair” be called “Westinghoused”.

He was such a little snot.
