Finally, I find an environment that suits my tastes and needs but, still I am having a problem getting involved in the community. First off I am a Night Owl according to SL time. This means I do not get much of a chance to interact with the people of New Babbage, as you are all such sound sleepers. I would join the militia but all of the officers must have bankers hours. I will have to throw myself into academic study until I get in touch with someone in City Government. (Sigh) Is it really this difficult for a young lady to get noticed around here? I say laughing out loud, but I digress.

Welcome to New Babbage, Ms. Royce!
I’m afraid that although I do often find myself strolling about the city until the wee hours of the night, I have not seen you. I’m not there every night though, so perhaps it has merely been a matter of timing.
Would you like to meet for coffee or tea sometime?
…yes, there are a great number of us on the Eastern and Central timezones of the US, but we have somne folks who are on SL time proper, and several on European time as well. If you are online in the spot where the sun is over Mongolia, it may well be pretty empty in town.
As Ms Ginsberg said, don’t give up hope, and I’ll offer a walk around town as well.
While I am also in the eastern time zone it is not uncommon for me to be on after hours as well. I can usually be found in the Wheatstone Waterway fussing over a diminishing prim count. Feel free to stop by and say ‘hello’ anytime… welcome and enjoy New Babbage.
I tend to be quite nocturnal on US central time, but I hadn’t seen you on the map that I had noticed.
I try to vary my event days and times so that people who can’t make one can enjoy another. Just keep a lookout here and in the Steampunks group! And feel free to come by the cafe or hospital whenever you like.
Also, if you’ve not yet joined the ‘Steampunks of New Babbage’ group, I’d suggest doing so. That will help you get in touch with others.
A number of us “late nighters” have been on vacation. Summer can be quite slow in the city, just hang in there and everyone will slowly return. In the meantime, Book’s suggestion about joining Steampunks is an excellent idea. Even if there isn’t anyone wondering about the city, there’s usually an oodle of people in Steampunks just waiting for someone to poke the chat.
the late nighters tend to retire to the platforms, where they push prims around (which may or may not actualy result in building.. its some sort of ritual socializing??) sooooo…. what do you know about building?
XD Ritual socializing. That does seem to fit it. And welcome back, by the way!
