Notes from Clockwinder Tenk’s planning coffee:

- Oiling Festival categories needed
- Build contests planned: clutter and export, Honking Big Machines, windmills, Imperial flag, 1930s-era movie posters about Babbage, best oiler. Suggested: prefabs.
- Steamlands Grand Tour Mid-February
- RFL Season (begins mid-March; theme: Seasons of Hope).
- Mainland invasion theme brewing. Babbager should consider becoming an explorer in the name of Babbage if they’re looking for something to do
- Public-facing Babbage website project to get underway in January – interest meeting notice to be posted on the BAR
- Possible RL publication of Flash Fiction stories may occur, and may lead to other publication projects. Writers remember to get your Flash Fiction submission to Canolli Capalini and consider assembling any other material for future projects. See AE for details.
- Tourist hub proposal: direct tourists to a single point, advertise land rental, merchants, guided tours, activities
- Request for more militia activity. Officer corps reform, regular events, a Militia Day, and making it easier to join were all discussed.
- Proposal for Ladies of New Babbage calendar (Miss Babbage?)
- Suggestion that Tenk ought to have a gavel
Late entry on the ‘to think about’ list: put a city co-op prefab rezzing platform, need to work out how to coordinate multiple vendors to use rezzer one at time.
Any more details on this Hunt? Breezy and I have been working on a “sights of Babbage” clue hunt. Just don’t want people to be reinventing the wheel.
The idea of the hunt was to have prizes/gifts hidden throughout Babbage – not at stores, to get people out and interacting. Is that what yours is like? If so, guess you beat us to the punch. :)
We’ve been discussing the idea of a clue hunt, sending people all over Babbage, getting people into the nooks and crannies. Looking for secret rooms in Clockhaven or finding entrances to the sewers, that sort of thing. It was partially inspired by some RL foot rallies I used to do and partially by Loki sending people to weird places in Babbage.
We’d thought of a completion prize, but yes it was specifically to be something other than a shop hunt, more a *get to know your city*.
Obviously something like this would only survive as long as the buildings didn’t change so it was going to be a short lived one to start but could be tinkered with.
Are there any guild lines for the Imperial flag design? Sorry I know I am jumping the gun, but I am excited at the fun of coming up with some designs.
the monks brought this one up. remember when we did the naval ensign? like that. the oiling festival categories are far enough away not to be set in stone. this one is very likely to stick, as it has been kicked around a bit in the past.
Update: Founders Week will be Jan 23-29, with the Airship Regatta on the 29th.
Oiling Festival idea: NBTA-compatible trolleys.
