June is National Drinking Month!

Ah yes, the signs and portents are on the spreadsheets. Must be June. That means… NATIONAL DRINKING MONTH!

I’d like to do something besides the traditional bar crawl… a mystery to go with it. here’s what i need you to tell me to get ready:

Consider a game of Clue

  • Tell me the names of all the drinking establishments in town.
  • Tell me who the likely suspects are. Yes, real avatars please. Folks who are good sports because people are going to tell all kinds of lies.
  • List the likely murder weapons please.

Then I can shuffle all that together and come up with a game we can play.

Spread the love

Mind if I suggest pubs to snoop around in? No? Well, here’s what I can think of.

The Bucket of Blood, The Gangplank, The Mursheen Durkin, The Sanctuary of the Holy Miscreant… Loki’s Absinthe…
    Anything I’m missing?

[img_assist|nid=9737|title=The Tell-Tale Pub Grand Opening|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=150|height=113]The Tell-Tale Pub will have a Grand Opening on Tuesday June 21st. While it is technically in Palisades, it is just down the street from Quarry Hill (within walking distance from the posh houses), and is next to the tram terminal – where the old Luzbecki Mansion stood.

The Grand Opening event will feature steampunk tunes via a DJ, and some other fun stuff that I haven’t thought of yet. It is already open for those who want to take a peek.

    Cheers!

Barring the possibility of death by alcohol poisoning, here are some of the more affordable tools people might use for murder in a pub.

    • Knives
    • Broken bottles and/or furniture
    • Firearms
    • Poison
    • The murderer’s bare hands, e.g. choking the victim

I know this doesn’t sound very flashy, but seeing as the suspect list will likely include people from upper and lower classes, it would be more probable to include weapons that the working class might be able to get their hands on. Not everyone can obtain a killer robot, you know.

Hello Fellow Citizen of New Babbage:

Congratulations if you have been chosen or volunteered to be a suspect in the New Babbage game of CLUE. I have been given the pleasure of producing the CLUE cards. So…

      A) I need a close-up (shoulders and face) picture of your avatar to put on the cards. I would prefer a texture, or a graphics file, with a neutral background, sized at least 512 x 512, as close up to your face as possible.
While I can use your B. A. R. avatar photo in a pinch (the New Babbage webforum), not all of you are in there. And the B. A. R. photos are super tiny.  I would rather not have to use these. If you can please provide another photo that is bigger (preferably 512 x 512 at least) and has a neutral background, the resulting CLUE card would look pretty cool. Please see the sample:

      [img_assist|nid=9749|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=389|height=640]

You can send me an SL texture or photo inworld, or you can email a graphics file to me at captainkillianjameson@gmail.com. Please include your avatar’s name in the title of the file.

      B) Please also include a 1-(or 2) sentence description of your avatar’s character here in New Babbage, as on the sample card.

      C) I also need a photo or texture or graphics file of the tavern you are associated with. I don’t know where all the taverns and pubs in NB are located, so I can’t take them all myself. I would prefer a graphic that shows the tavern/pub sign on the storefront.
If you don’t have a graphic of the tavern you are associated with, would you please provide me a LM to the place, and I will run over and take one. Please see the sample:

      [img_assist|nid=9750|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=389|height=640]

      D) Please also forward a 1-sentence description of the tavern you are associated with.

      Thank you, and Cheers!

P.S. I’m sure you know this, but please take the photos in as bright a windlight as you can. CalWL works well for me.

Hyde, you’re a suspect because you’ve been drinking at the Queen’s Arms.

I’d’ve volunteered, but no one would ever believe I did it.

      Right?

Your friend Ms. Lanfier could be a suspect, but you don’t eat out or go to bars.  Now if there was a murder at the library…well you’re not Jessica Fletcher.  ;3
