Greetings Fellow Babbagers!
For roleplay, fun and general interest I am trying to create an urchin map of the City, with the locations of different types of places marked on it. In our ever changing City this is not that easy, as you might have guessed, and contrary to popular rumour, what one urchin knows, another doesn’t always!
So, I am asking for help to track down and locate the places urchins might have an interest in. It might also be fun if builders could see if they have a few spare prims and a hidden corner out of sight that could be used for a small shelter.
What different types of place might urchins be interested in? Well, here are a few ideas, and I would love to hear about any others:
Places that are soley for urchins – The Abandoned Factory with the Sneaky Vole is an example, lots of urchins can gather, party or sleep there with no knowledge of the adult population.
Places urchins can sleep for a night or two, courtesy of the adult residents – The Yard or the place under the Gangplank are good examples. Suitable for a few urchins on a short term basis, always aware the adult population know we are there!
Places urchins can find free food or drink – the soup outside the Church of the Builder for example, though there are a lot of these. These places are charitable in nature, and it’s possible in hard times the demand will be higher than the supply, and they are run by the adult population.
Places to go in an emergency – the clinic for medical needs and the floors of various young friends are examples, not usually for longer term needs.
Places urchins can get warm – the Libraries, City Hall (until chased out) are good examples.
Then there are the individual urchin’s places, such as my camp, and the secret places, hidden away!
We have already had lots of information, and offers to set up places thanks to the generosity of Babbagers, but I would love to know if you have a place that could be included in the map – I know there are some I can’t remember where they are, and there are bound to be places I don’t know!
Landmarks, suggestions, descriptions either here or in world are much appreciated, and thank you all in advance!

Great idea!
East wing of Sovereign House in Academy of Industry was never fully converted to a room, instead Mornington lost interest in renovating this older part of the building and left it as a storage room for overstock and old furniture.

The Wine Cellar under Brunel Hall. Folks wondered why, when the cellar was being excavated out that the workers was not seen hauling tons of dirt up through the front entrance. In actual fact, the Wine Cellar is below the current sewer systen level, and the dock workers found the entrance tunnel to a much older sewer system, sitting directly below the current one. The workers had dumped over 40 tons of dirt and rocks at the far end of this tunnel to block it off.
((Mr Tenk has basically added an old sewer tunnel to the back wall of the cellar…ive put in the door.))

Both locations have a couple of matresses. The Cellar tunnel is cold, no heating down in that cellar, the east wing of Sovereign House though is partially heated because of the gaping hole in the roof which goes up into the warm library. Sovereign House is quiet, i hardly go into that old east wing, only usually when im putting extra food into storage (theres a bunch of barrels with dry food in it) . The back of the wine cellar under Brunel Hall is also hardly looked at as its also basically storage for empty boxes and old wine barrels.
The Old Solar Collector Tower stands at the very edge of the Clockhaven Power Station.

No one really knows the original purpose of this tower, although in more recent times it has been the home of the solar collector designed by Avariel Falcon. The sollar collector itself is automated and requires minimal maintenance, it only occupies the observation deck on top of the tower and is maintained by a flying clockwork worker who never enters the tower itself.
Within the tower is rather bleak, but there is a stone room with simple windows that may be surviceable as an urchin hiding place.

It was part of the medieval fortress surrounding the old city.
Dont forget inside the great walls
We have had lots of offers, and some great places have come up, thank you all! I will be trying to make sense of them all, working out how to show the different sorts of place, and what instructions there are to reach some of them! This may take a little longer than I had first thought, but don’t worry folks, it is being worked on!
P.S. the intention is to make them urchin maps, so the final result may be less…. conventional than some!
