Nath, with his natural curiosity of machinery, was drawn to the sound of working steam drifting over the fells and had to investigate. To his surprise a large derrick was being erected and workmen were preparing to clear debris from the site of the explosion. Nath watched in fascination as the crane and workmen worked.
