Sky hops up on the community soapbox with a piece of paper in hand that has coffee stains all over it and looks as if it has possibly had a fight with a trolley. She smiles and recites verbatim:
“The Air Kraken Festival was absolutely magnificent and I truly hope it’s a new tradition that will come around again next August! As you may remember, one of the events of the festival was “Black Ink and Bold Tales”, a writing contest.
Quality won out over quantity. The judging panel was absolutely thrilled with our two entries!
First place (and winner of the “Truly Terrifying Tale” category) goes to Emerson Lighthouse for his exciting tale of terror, cunning plans and dubious hygiene on the high seas, “Emerson Takes the Red Eye”.
Second Place (and winner of the “You’re Kraken Me Up” category) honors are bestowed upon Miss Junie Ginsburg’s “Kraken Carols”, a fine assortment of holiday songs suitable for the Christmas season in New Babbage. May the streets resound with the warblings of these carols to warm our winter-bound hearts!
Both of these worthy submissions, in this Writer’s humble opinion, should also be submitted to Aeolus Cleanslate’s exciting “Tales of New Babbage” project.”
Looking up from the crumpled page, Sky adds, “Details on the two entries being available for pubic reading are on the way. Again, thank you to all who entered and judged!” She steps down and drags the away the soapbox.
Congratulations, Mr. Lighthouse and Ms. Ginsburg!
Thanks, it was a lot of fun to write.
…wonders how his voice is….
…tips his head back and laughs… well, it’s not quite Victor’s, but it works.
Doooooo it. This would be wonderful done for radio! Gather up some sound effects to go with, Tenk!
Yay, thanks! Like Emerson, I had a lot of fun writing mine too. :-)
I laughed myself silly, Miss Junie. And I sang along. ;)
Congrats. :)
I’m looking forward to reading them…congrats!
