Sky stretched as she rose from her chair in the Melnik Warehouse, her eyes bloodshot from staring at decorations, renovations and paperwork over the past several days. Her neck popped as she craned it upwards towards the racket above her. Scottie and the workers were making good progress, it seemed. Sky slowly shuffled to ‘Cuffs, gave the regulars a silent nod and poured herself some hot cocoa.
As she sipped her cocoa she looked over the edge of her mug, narrowing her eyes slightly. Everyone was staring at her. Everyone. Sky quickly reached up and ran her fingers through her red hair. Sure, it was slightly awry, but when wasn’t it? She was halfway through her mug when she saw it on the wall….
Sky instantly spat out all of the hot cocoa in her mouth, spewing it in front of her. She whirled around, sloshing the remains of her drink all over the floor. Like a madwoman, she waved and pointed her dripping mug at the words that littered the walls and floor. Sky could only sputter at first, “Who?! But why?! Do they not know?!”
Her face flushed deep crimson with anger, she launched her mug out of the open wall of the pub with a guttural, extremely unladylike sound. A splash sounded in the background as the mug hit the surface of the Vernian. Sky stumbled back over the stairs, catching her balance next to the trolley tracks. She leaned back and gave a piercing yell, “SCOTTIE!!!!!!”
