Yeah—I was nervous about that too.
The paintings never show the mosquitos.
That is why the hookah is such an indispensable piece of camping equipment. For maximum effectiveness I recommend firing it up everyday you are out in the bush—in particular during those hours of the late afternoon and early evening when mosquitos are most prevalent.
