Brother Eli Rudyard was brought to New Babbage to take over the position of Head Archivist, who was retired under mysterious circumstances (rumor has it that the previous Archivist went mad and had to be sent to one of the monasteries for special handling, which Rudyard freely admits seems true given the state of the archives upon his arrival.).
When he first arrived in New Babbage he was boisterous, tubby and best described as a ‘pig’ by the women of the city. But time (and some say exposure to the archives) has mellowed him, and he has proven himself to be slow to anger and action and has gained a great deal of patience. He has become the favored go-to for students in the Church and the local City Messengers when there’s a problem.
He is affectionately referred to as “Rudy.”
