Returned from Murgham Asylum with more questions than awnsers.
I managed to meet with Professor Vartanian and Mr. Wright after the former had finished speaking with Freya. The fox woman seems to be stable, which is good considering her ties to the former Bear Gang, but understandably miserable. She had requested some humorous reading to lighten her mood. I should keep an eye out for that sort of book the next time I enter the book shop.
Back to the matter I had come there for. I explained the curious dream I had last night, trying not to give too much of the Prof.’s habits away. I was hoping Wright would have gone to his post after Prof. V. was finished with his therapy, but the wolf seemed to want to linger. It was a good thing he did, though, because Wright seems to have had the same sort of dream!
Yes, Wright said he had nearly the same dream involving a raven changing into a woman to warn him of some dark forces in the city. Apperently, the raven woman told him that Miss Domino would be a valuable ally, that “the ‘natural enemies’ of cat and dog must come together,” that “the awnsers [he seeks] require subtley and coherence” and something about “finding assistance among dairy products.” (He equated that last clue with Russel, who somehow accquired mass quantites of cheese.)
Prof. V. was understandably concerned about this turn of events, and visibly disgruntled by the fact that the oracle in these dreams happened to be his least favorite bird. He asked Wright if he had ever had visitors in his dreams. Wright said no, but he worked with a tribe of Cree Indians at some point. Allegedly, the indians belived their gods would speak to them through their dreams, therefore they would not ignore dreams. Wright seems to have taken this philosophy to heat, but Prof. V. disagrees. His philosophy is that you can tell a lot about a person’s pshyce through their dreams.
I finally got to have a word with Prof. V. alone after Wright left for the evening. I warned the Professor of the possibility that this raven we’re dealing with can only communicate through dreams. He’s concerned that some dark force is playing tricks on us, but he plans to try and communicate with the raven sometime soon…
Speaking of, I have seen that bird while I was awake. Even before that strange dream, I feel as if the bird has been stalking me…
