Urgent News: Shipping Quarantine

By order of the New Babbage Volunteer Militia,
Wiggy Undertone, Captain:

Due to the discovery of a highly infectious contagion currently affecting New Babbage, a cessation of all shipping, both inbound and outbound, is hereby ordered. This step must be taken to ensure the contagion does not spread outside the city. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and will inform you of the resumption of such commerce as soon as possible.

Avariel locked the red code card away in the secret safe in the mushroom cave, without that card no one could open a portal to the outside world.

Bookworm Hienrichs receives reports throughout the day Monday, as Militia volunteers make sure everyone is at least on the way to recovery. She tells them to focus on those involved in shipping first, knowing the city would need to return to business as soon as possible. Late in the afternoon, she feels confident enough to wire Captain Undertone that it would be possible to lift the quarantine. His assent was swift in coming. Bookworm sends out messengers with the news, pleased at taking this large step back to normalcy.
