Before there was a Linden wiki for LSL there was Catherine Omega’s wiki at:

Alas, since the Lab launched its own wiki, this has fallen into disuse and is no longer maintained, but for beginners it is still a valuable resource. It full of useful examples and code fragments which can often be lifted straight out of the text and modified for one’s own use. I still use it most of the time.
