Disconcerting rumors of a large clock or bomb located within the sewers of Clockhaven have started to surface. Anyone who might choose to traverse the slimy subterranean by-ways, most especially those located around the ruins of the old ‘Wondrous Wares Emporium’, has been assailed with a ceasless, unsettling, resounding and repetitive reverberation:
“…tick-tock…”
It could just be Unit #6 moping about in the sewers, he has a lot of time free since the power station explosion. *nods*
Mr Tenk paused on his rounds and listened. He knew that clock, but he had not heard it in a very long time. What was it doing under the streets?
Another clock came to mind, that odd Imperial age job that never needed winding. He assumed it had been destroyed in the city hall explosion last winter. But, there was that strange story Wexhome had told him that one time, the one that enraged him so much that he had had him thrown out of his office for babbling like a madman while he was trying to conduct business. If there was any truth in it, then then maybe it had survived… but where was it?
Rumors have persisted lately, coupled with troubling reports of city workers losing track of themselves while working in the underground near the ruins. They come back with all manner of stories..losing track of time, waking some hours later tucked within the booth of a local pub…
In other news – it appears the long shuttered Penny Gaff Publishing down on Canal Street may soon be reopening their doors.
Huh. I’ve heard of stories about stuff running about under Clockhaven, but a clock? Sounds interestin’! Better pay that neighborhood a visit soon… Heh heh
