The Dream of the 1890s

Did this already make it around here?  “The Dream of the 1890s” from the TV show “Portlandia”.

They’re parodying their own series intro, “The Dream of the 90s”, which you should see here first if you haven’t:

Dream of the 90s original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVmq9dq6Nsg

Dream of the 1890s: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPKe9OfWs-M

And yes, everything in both of them happens in Portland somewhere at any given time.  We have hand-sewn clothes, artisanally crafted pretzel salts, everything you could imagine.

Spread the love

The one time I visited Portland I saw all the 1990s stuff. I do know now too that a lot of steampunks are in Portland as well but at the time it wasn’t a big thing. Would be cool to see them there as well next time I visit :3
