That foghorn that sounds like a giant owl… It is a giant owl…

[img_assist|nid=8375|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=512|height=640]Not sure how many of you know that Fred the Penguin adopted an orphan penguin chick during his last antarctic vacation. He is determined to raise “Joe the Penguin” as a happy well educated bird. Fred is a mighty fine chemistry teacher; so good in fact I have needed to replace my blown out windows and repaint the kitchen 7 times this year![img_assist|nid=8376|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=640|height=457]

At the same time our house cat Cookie has decided she does not like to hunt mice any more… Both of them pooled their money and hired Sir Anselm Owl PhD, OBE (FYI that’s a special tittle from Queen Victoria: Owl of the British Empire). He is the first owl to ever earn a PhD in English Literature from Oxford AND the first owl ever to take up Morris Dancing as a hobby. He is also an accomplished hunter of rodents…

Fred was so happy to have found a proper English tutor for Joe that he ordered him a new mortarboard. Unfortunately based on Fred’s previous orders the supply company thought Fred meant a new mortar.  All things aside he has taken over my study and is currently teaching Joe and the whole household all sorts of great things. We even had Mr Charles Dickens over for dinner the other night!

He is currently printing up several hundred copies of the “Complete Shakespeare” to give out to all the urchins in my factory… and well… anyone he finds in the street… Please do take a copy. Another FYI is he is a HUGE fan of Edward Bulwer-Lytton… Perhaps the only fan of Edward Bulwer-Lytton.

Spread the love
