Why doesn’t New Babbage have more songs?
Every major city I know has songs written about it, love songs, ballads, historical epics. We have the history, but do we have the songs to commemorate it?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while. My latest attempt is “Meet Me Tonight (At the Piermont Landing)” and I welcome your comments.
Does anyone else know some New Babbage songs? Or maybe some lyrics in search of a catchy tune?
I like it it sounds quite well done Hmm there are plenty of things to sing about but not sure I know of any song ideas or lyrics off the top of my head
Here is one I posted about a year and a half ago. Interestingly, there was a street-naming conversation happening at that time too!

I have located a recording of “Dusty Stones (New Babbage Love Song)”, although the clockwork vocalist is a bit soft on her consonants.
An exquisite song. I should so like to hear a human voice rendition.
My voice is not quite what it used to be, but here is my vocal attempt. Dusty Stones (vocal)
Many thanks, Mr. Culdesac. The song only gains from the human touch.
I’ve got to write a bit about the Moreau Riots for the wikki, well, i already had a song going though my head when thinking about standing on top of the barracades, so here is the revised version of the Internationale for those times :-
The Internationale – revised for the New Babbage Moreau Riots!
Arise, ye moreau from your slumber,
Arise, ye prisoners of greed.
For people in revolt now thunder,
and at last ends the age of hate!
Away with all your prejudices,
Oppressed we must arise!
We’ll change henceforth the old divisions,
And spurn the foe to win the prize!
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.
No more deluded by the bosses,
On tyrants only we’ll make war!
The Guards too will take strike action,
They’ll break ranks and fight no more!
And if those Council keep trying,
To sacrifice us to their pride,
They soon shall hear the bullets flying,
We’ll fight them till they run and hide.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.
No saviour comes to us deliver,
No faith have we in prince or peer.
Our own right hand the chains must shiver,
Chains of hatred, greed and fear.
E’er the thieves will out with their booty,
And to all give a happier lot.
Each at his forge must do their duty,
And we’ll strike the irn while it’s hot.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.
So comrades, come rally,
And the last fight let us face.
The Internationale,
Unites from every race.

My Babbage *hic* Sweetheart!
Did not know of the Poetry page at the Wiki. I have some ancient, ancient stuff from about 2007. Will dig.
Unofficial anthem for New Babbage.
