One of my all time guilty pleasures is arriving in London today. One has to marvel at the some of the ingenious contraptions they have come up with to end the journey.
my favorite was the archer. elegant. lowtech. gutsy.
next favorite would be moscow 1980. no one does strong bold so ugly that its beautiful and let’s force the audience into submission too like soviets.
I liked the flaming ufo rising out of the water.
For some reason these things always remind me of this now.

i recon the Torch Bearer will get near the stadium, get mugged, the torch will then be used ter start fires all over London, lighting up the night sky ter help the looters…. Spectacular! ;-)
Archer was my favorite.
Woman trapped in a ring of fire – What could possibly go wrong?
Moscow 1980 – Seoul 1988 – I am pretty sure some birds died in both.
Beijing 2008 – Was that a flying Yao Ming?
Vancouver Winter 2010 – They burnt down the Fortress of Solitude! Those bastages!
Crispy fried peace doves. Yup :-)
Barcelona (the archer) was definitely my favorite, but Sydey and Turin deserve big points for sheer spectacle.
I also agree that several birds got toasted in Seoul.
