It’s good to have Philip back, no doubt. He has a far better grip on the product dimension of SL than Kingdon did. And his charisma and commitment to his crazy-a$$ user base is welcome.
A couple of things, though: first, Rosedale is interim CEO, which means that he’s not back to stay and they’re looking for a replacement. Second, SL still has investors, and I remain convinced that the recent turmoil (from layoffs to Kingdon’s departure) stem from pressure they’re putting on LL. That pressure isn’t going away.
SL isn’t going anywhere for a little while, I’d agree. But when the new team tries to engineer a landing for the LL investors the outcome for the user base is up in the air.
I’ve always liked Phillip, he drinks a lot of coffee and wears cool shirts…
I concur on the nice shirts and coffee *grins*
Archivist what i liked most is that Philip is real .. in other words he reads all the posts on the blogs and as he stated .. ” People we are ten years old .. we still employ over 250 people we make a profit .. We are not going anywhere “ …. Now what Philip does not mention have they taken a hit ! Of course they have a big one !!
Slow and Steady indeed does win any race ..
Alas they were smart enough to adjust and tighten up (( what all good companies have been doing the past 18 months .)) Result he can stand there get choked up looking at a photo of his wife ((who has been by his side through it all .. I like that too)) talk in person in Boston and let us all know: he well aware of what is going on , what can & shall be ..
1) I do not think of this guy, as being someone who tires quickly ..
2) I like he wants accountability with his staff with the every week reports ! ((heck in my business it is daily call sheets ))
In the LL world it is productivy What works .. Why not .. When will it .. and how are you going to get us there !!
Bottom line he is well aware, and it is still his brain child and he cares .
Value of that = Priceless ! I do not think it is on his mind to sell daily ..if it is, very foolish .. I believe he still has a passion for it ..
