Brother Rudyard and I made an short investigation of the occult vandalism in front of city hall and believe it is a prank. The diagram was poorly drawn, without apparent knowledge of how to properly lay out a pentagram and the diagram itself was paint, though the odor of gunpower was present. I would guess it was engineered to ingite to full effect after dark when the candles burnt to the ground. I have sent Malus and Riddler to abrade the remains of the diagram from the stones.
If this is in fact the work of an organization bent on instilling fear and superstition, they will no doubt perform another antic of this variety. I suspect this is a singular work of isolated pranksters. I urged the onlookers not to feed the perpatrators’ vanity by reacting to it with fear.
We have apprehended Pip and placed him in the dungeon with the aid of a reality enforcer attached to a collar. Several citizens saw us carry off the dwarf, but there were no attempts to stop us. He is resting comfortably with food, tobacco, and his pipe that he demanded be returned to him. I think he could use a few days of softening time.

oh goodness! Pip has been kidnapped by the Builders! maybe we need to organise a rescue? i’m sure there is a way in through the sewers, if only i could remember the way…..
gilhooly knows the sewers awfully well, tepic… he showed me and zaida and cyan a secret passageway under those streets, and it is rather easy, so long as you may be able to swim and don’t mind having a bath afterwards.
i cannot believe all those people simply watched and let them drag poor pip away! it is quite awful… i do fear for him!
Ah would’ve kicked dem in de knees! Who died an’ made dose nasty old priests de police anyway?
Vandalizing city property to install fear in the populace? Hoaxing the occult is no laughing matter from what I’ve heard.
Thankfully it all seems a rather pointless exercise with these fine Church men around to measure angles and such.
