Pi Day

Pi Day is coming!  (3/14)

What do New Babbagers do to observe, if anything?

(Besides their usual indulgence in the goodness that is pie.)

Spread the love

Yes, we may have our pie. Pi day is a Feast day.

After all the chanting of the digits, of course.

I wonder if that’s the day that concludes the Brother’s/Sister’s fasting as well.

Sadly, no. Ending that soon would be too easy.

      Math is everywhere.

      ((

Darren Aronofsky’s movie, Pi, is one of my all-time favorites.  I own very few DVDs, but it’s one.

The soundtrack is definitely not Steampunk, but hey…it’s Pi day…

Silly woman. There is no 3rd day of the 14th month. Honestly!

(These wacky Americans and their backwards ways of writing)

Speaking of wacky, the Indian Legislature once contemplated a bill to set the value of pi to 3.2. There are rumors Tennessee tried to set it to 3.0; one wonders if the wheels of trains and carriages in that state turned into polygons?

      • Mr Tenk Mr Tenk March 12, 2012

the spokes fall out of the rim in india, and leak out in tennessee.

        • Glaubrius Valeska Glaubrius Valeska March 14, 2012

My sincerest apologies to India! Due to an error by my typist, my name is now associated with libel of the part of the world and culture that invented the zero, the precursors to the numerals we now use (refered to as ‘arabic’ for some reason) and, I believe, the equal sign and negative numbers. It was the Indiana Lege that transgressed so.

/me slinks outside to rend garments and heap ashes on his head…

Found this’n that uses a similar techinique to yores, Citizen Lorefield, but through a duodecimal system instead of decimal. Alas, not as artistic as yores on account there is no harmonization. Listen to this one too long and you will go as ‘batty as brothers’.
