Personal Work Log; “An Unexpected Illumination”

Just this evening, I was perusing the various tomes in the Sitting Library of the Paleozoic Museum, looking for odd and obscure scientific treatises.

Purely by chance, I happened across a particularly beautiful illuminated manuscript of the Book of the Builder.  According to the dedication, it was originally owned by an obscure monk named Tsiolkovsky.

To my great surprise, I discovered a sheaf of handwritten notes tucked into the leaves entitled “The Ideal Rocket Equation.”  No doubt written by the mad monk himself!

I am quite intrigued by the calculations therein, as they relate closely to the forces involved in the orbiting of my “Space Gun” projectile, and as such, surely deserve further perusal…

Do keep us informed of your findings, sir. Prior to you returning the manuscript it would be most appreciated if you would allow Brother Rudyard to examine it. We must ensure our archives are current, as you know anything else would be unacceptable.

May the Builder guide you in your endeavors and may Logic light your way.

While I returned the Book of the Builder to its shelf, I did ahhh…”retain” the brother’s manuscript for further perusal.

Certainly, such material belongs more appropriately to the Church, and, since I have copied the salient theorums, I would be happy to turn it over.  I will leave the final disposition in your, ahhh…capable hands, as it were…

While I am not a member of the Church, as of yet; tho perhaps familiar with a incipient member, as my employee, Mr Underwood, is intrigued, I must report that I have come across, in my tangential studies, some information which might be of import to your work.  I have, along with a pamphlet of a certain individual on the Doctrine of Fluxations, a drawing that he seemed to believe was produced by Brother Tsiolkovsky.  Said individual is one Mr Moorer and his consort, who, I have been given to understand, went by the preposterous name of Delta Vee.  They obtained, and it is now in my possession, this sketch:
