Paying the piper…

I stood infront of the edifice of Brunel Hall, looking along the wooden grilling making sure that there was no sign of early wood rot now that winter was setting in.  Dampness and wood do not mix well together.

It had been several weeks since the incident with The Crate, and I knew it was only a matter of time before word got back to that lot in the High Council of what had transpired.  I got the summons two days ago, and to be honest I wasnt surprised…

They was sending two castellan guards and a Cardinal to get me…as if I could run away from the council.

I sat on the kerbstone infront of the entrance of the hotel, pulled out one of my last Havana cigars, bit off the end, stuck it in my mouth and lit it…

It was one of the few pleasures i rarley take time to enjoy thesedays.  The smell and taste of a fine crafted Cigar.  Just as I was putting away my lighter, i heard the tell tale grinding noise of a capsule landing a couple of metres infront of me.

Two guards stepped out, both of them carrying weapons.

Cardinal Patrice was the last to step out, he looked down at me with his sad old eyes and simply said…

“Time to pay the piper Councillor Mornington”

I stood up, smiled at the Cardinal…and walked in.

=====================================

((basically this is an excuse for me missing from Babbage over the past few days, theres new houses being constructed in the area and the local workers sheared through the streets fibre optic line in two different places…its absolutley hammering down with rain outside and the two soaking wet cable guys are still out there working away.

Hopefully things will be fixed intime for Fleet Week this weekend…hopefully…

Until then i will be on for short 5 minutes spells courtesy of the neighbours wireless net, which is horribly slow and usually kicks me out of SL after 5 minutes anyway.))

Spread the love

    ;_; I wish LUSFiber were so dedicated. The lines in front of our house are marked and they Still won’t come to hook us up until the 17th. Good luck, Mr. Mornington. And great cover story!
