Jack has just popped round for a cup of tea and delivered the envelope with this years snow animal!
Now lets see…
This is a little different this year! Its a category of animals!
Mythical Equines!
So this could be any mythical equine from mythology!
Prizes awarded based on Mythicality, Prancyness and Yay!
1st: L$1000
2nd: L$500
3rd: L$250
Runner up / Notable mention: L$100
I will sync the closing date with the other snowpeople competitions as they are announced.
Prim count will be 15 prims or less as with the other snowpeople competitions, old style prims or mesh are good, sculpties less so as we are generally trying to move away from sculpts.
i will sponsor a bababge personality look-a-like done in a 20th century modern art style. no realism! no selfies! 1000/500/250
Yay! for Surrealism! Yay!
Best Urchin (Calvin and Hobbesesque) snowmen builds. No sculpts, mesh prefered but not needed. Less than 15 prims. 1000/500/250 100 for runner up.
Best SnowZombeh, 15 prims or less. 1000/500/250 runner up 100. Condition: a copy of each winner to decorate either the park in Academy, the cemetery/church in Academy or the factory in New Babbage (so points, I guess, for zombehs that particularly look like they belong in a park, factory or church or cemetery, whatever that looks like … or mostly, a zombeh that looks like it’s home is Babbage)
We have our first mythical snow-equine!
A cubist unicorn that looks strangely familiar!
We need more! Yay!
I’ll just embarrass myself and ask – where can one find the entries thus far?
Clockhaven Marketsquare. Take the main road from Port through Clockhaven and you can’t miss it, you’ll go up some stairs and through a tunnel and there will be the fountain with the entries.
*Mythical Snow Equine Alert* AROOOGA! AROOOGA! AROOOGA!
I will be taking photographs of the snow equines this coming Saturday the 10th January. After this no new entries will be accepted, so if you wish to enter you have a few more days to get your snow equine in place!
The panel of judges will then meet to play chess and figure out who the winners are.
The Best Urchin (Calvin and Hobbes esque) deadline is Friday and winners annoucned just before or during Foot-taping.
Also, the Prizes have been doubled for this contest. 2000/1000/500 and 200 for runners up.
*Mythical Snow Equine Contest is now closed*
Photographs of the entries can be found here:

Results will be posted on Sunday! Yay!
The winners for the Urchin (Calvin and Hobbes) snow men are as follows!
3rd Tepic for his hidden snow fort in his build. Great place to hide while pelting someone with snow balls. 500 L coming soon
2nd Kimika for the Snow Beast that eats happless passerbys. 1000 L coming soon
1st Dee for the most Calving and Hobbes esque mixed with Babbage duel gone wrong. 2000 L coming soon.
Good building everyone!
Congratulations! A fine set.
Fun entries, all round. :)
Thank you Beryl – and sorry Tepic, its ravenous!
The judges have finished their game of chess and decided who the winners are for this years New-Babbage Snow Animal contest! Yay!
We had an interesting debate regarding one of our entrants who made not one, but three snow animals! It has been decided, in fareness to the other entrants, that we will enter the snow animal considered the best of the three for the contest and award runners up prizes to the other two.
So on to the winners!
In reverse order!

3rd place goes to: Snow Vaulting Horse by Tepic Harlequin!
While not prancy in itself it does inspire prancyness in those who use it!
This nobal steed has played a part in many more modern myths, but scores less well in Yay!
[img_assist|nid=8932|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=240|height=129]
2nd place goes to: The Breezy by Beryl Strifeclaw!
This wonderful minature mythical snow equine scores highly in Yay! and Prancyness!
[img_assist|nid=8933|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=240|height=129]
1st place goes to: Cubist snow sculpture of Avariel Falcon by Kimika Ying!
Unit #6, Jack and I liked the simplicity of the style of this snow equine. Unit #6 in particular felt this snow animal scored highly in Yay! Jack felt that it made him feel prancy and I feel it scores highly in mythicality!
[img_assist|nid=8930|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=240|height=129]
Runner up: Snow Trap-door Unicorn by Beryl Strifeclaw!
(It pounces on unsuspecting people and hugs them!)
[img_assist|nid=8929|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=240|height=129]
Runner up: Snow Centaur by Beryl Strifeclaw!
Congratulations to all our winners!
Join us again next year, when Jack will select another snow animal! Yay!
Thank you Avariel, Jack, and Unit #6!

Kimika Ying’s cubist offering of Beryl in a Box is, perhaps derivative and mocking of the modernist movement. On the other hand, perhaps Ms Ying is asking, which box is Beryl in? Awarded 250 lindens.
Ms Ying’s second offering, Cubist Sculpture of Avariel Falcon, is reminescent of Pablo Picasso’s towering masterpiece, Guernica, but here the screaming unicorn is symbolic of the rape of innocence by the marauding foreigners. 500 lindens.
And finally we have Garnet Psaltery’s utterly cryptic Snow Vaping Vic. 1000 L.
I would be remiss not to mention Janet Rhiadra’s simple Snowman for New Babbage 2014 composition that weighted in at 158 land impact. The deception of simple looking prims made into mesh at an alarming weight makes a statement that is, indeed, quite deep.

“I spent the afternoon musing on Life. If you come to think of it, what a
queer thing Life is! So unlike anything else, don’t you know, if you
see what I mean.”
P.G. Wodehouse
Many thanks for the kind judgement.
Oh dear, I must embarrass myself for going on autopilot in terms of the Best SnowZombeh contest. Was there ever a deadline for all entries, or should I declare a deadline or just show up now to pick winners? Apologies for losing track of this; I’ll look forward to the advice of Babbage veterans on how to proceed with my part of the contest.
Maybe set a deadline for this Saturday?
It gives people a couple of days for a speed build if they want to nip in there and enter.
Thanks, since we’re here on Friday, let’s make the deadline 5 pm Sunday SL. As reminder, the category is Best SnowZombeh, 15 prims or less.
1000/500/250 runner up 100.
Condition: a copy of each winner to decorate either the park in Academy or the factory in New Babbage
Gosh, one entry. Thank Heavens it’s a nice and sooty one. Jon Chen, many thanks. Thank you for entering, Jon!!!! Top prize goes to you, of course. Thanks to all who at least considered entering.
