New Babbage NaNo

It’s November 1st, and for some members of the New Babbage community that means that they’ll be tackling NaNoWriMo yet again.

What is NaNoWriMo? It’s National Novel Writing Month that takes place in November every year. The website is Most participants will be attempting to write 50,000 words before midnight on the 30th.

This humble typist, however, has set a personal word count goal of 15-25,000 and you can make your goal whatever you wish it to be (I knew someone last year who decided to write a poem a day). But I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t make other creative goals as well: finish rebuilding a clock? Paint? Draw? Build a model? Whatever!

We’re free thinkers here in New Babbage, who says that we have to conform to what all the other hep cats are doing?

I’m offering the Red Cat as the official New Babbage NaNo HQ. There are lots of comfy chairs, and plenty of tea, coffee, and cake, if you wish to fishbowl your avatar somewhere for some background noise/distraction/procrastination.

This is the slurl:

My user name on the Nano site is Nightlark Meanders, feel free to add me.

And good luck on whatever your creative goal of choice is this month!

Spread the love

Damn internalnet tubes are buggered and I’m having trouble signing up. But when I do I’ll be Reginald Beaker just ’cause I want to be. I’m aiming for 800 words per day.

The Red Cat sounds like it might be too fancy for me. Is there a dress code?
