It’s been well over a year since the last map update and this one was inspired by Dr. Watson’s version of the Babbage landscape from late 2009.
Obviously with the recent addition of North Fells, it’s out of date again (Maps are like computers sometimes I think), but that’s been making me think of doing a slightly bigger version with some creative licence one the unseen borders.
Of course with the publication of this map the ever popular Street Name issue, which had some discussion earlier this year but tapered off without resolving anything, shall rear its ugly head :-)
oh yes it will.
you know this map is already out of date inside the city walls too? *evil grin*
((Mavro Szondi used to have some good sources for period typefaces, can’t recall the names on them now, and it was a couple harddrives ago.))
FYI, for those that demand TMI, the Observatory is located on Lighthouse Island.
*Scribbles note for the inevitable update*
Rutherford Square, that park up in the NE corner of Academy.
Ruthorford, with an “o,” not an “e.” That’s how it’s spelled on the memorial.
Any chance we can give the sandbox there a name? Like “Academy Commons” or something?
Builder’s Square.
Stargirl, how do you spell Fr. Ruthorford’s name? I’m known for my typos.
Langdon Gardens where Piermont was should probably be changed to parkland.
And change Lobochevsky Ave. to Greg Street.
Ooh, Builder’s Square. I hadn’t heard that. Thanks, Mr. Tenk!
Also, sorry to be abrupt about the spelling…I should’ve tempered that. ;-)
no worries. this thread is always highly opinionated when it rears its ugly head.
Is there a name for the pond outside the wall? I see its not on here, but just wondering if it had a name.
Also The trolly Shack has its location next to said pond now as well, if interested in putting its silloette up there.
Well done, I do enjoy the Babbage maps quite a bit…. Also, thanks for including the tunnels on the map as well :-D
