As some of you may know I am the number
one employer of urchin labor in New Babbage. I have a very
kind 12 hours work day for my urchin labor. I even give them
free snacks and lunch. Sadly, with rising labor costs I had to do
away with the daily cookie ration and replace them with pickles. I
thought I was very generous giving my urchin workers 2 pickles
instead of 3 cookies daily…
Apparently the “Noble and Holy
Order of the Squires of Labor” don’t seem to think so and have
started picketing my factory… This AFTER disabling all my machinery
so that I couldn’t hirereplacement workers…
*gasps*
inconceivable!
Oy hates pickles!
Urchins of Babbage aroise! A general stroike of awl workers! Cookies faw Labor! Don’t do no maw work unless we get wot’s comin’ to us!
*passes out cookies to the striking urchins and lets it be know that there is work available at Ying Industries*
Oh My… What Next?[img_assist|nid=6374|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=640|height=335]
You obviously do not cane the layabouts enough.
18 hour work days and thin gruel is generous enough.
All that free time to think and plot you must take swift action Sir.
But… Cookies!
In related news, a statement by the Union of Clockwork Automatons details their support for the urchins and states that no clockwork will take on a job formally carried out by an urchin while this dispute continues.
*walks the picket line with Bert, offering hot cider, Cornish pasties and snickerdoodles to all present*

I guess pickle cookies’d be an unacceptable compromise?
I realize that the urchins are being treated unfairly, but really…
What does everyone have against pickles?
Pickles are ok, not as good as apples, but ok…
The problem is that urchins require cookies to live!
They might die of cookie starvation!
Oh dear!
Pickles are evil….
Gerkins, mebbee. But not pickled peppers! Caynt beat them with a stick. Get those young’un’s on some pickled jalepanos or scotch bonnets, that’ll get ’em workin’!
Pr’a’ps throw in some of those frijole beans? Cheaper ‘n’ pickles!
So true, Mr. Underwood. And I hear frijole beans are good for the heart. Really… I hear that.
Well some labor relief is on it’s way.
Walter Walrus, one of Fred’s friends is coming for thanksgiving and
staying for a few days. Fred has assured me that they are more than
capable of running the steam boilers at my factory… Fred said these
movies are based on his time with Walter… I Can’t possiblely see
what could go wrong…

What could possibly go wrong?
*note to Unit #6, activate the blast shields*
It is almost safe! *nods*
Well, Walter Walrus and Fred the
Penguin are trying to get some production going… Their first task
is trying to get the boilers lit without opposable thumbs. Even
though Sera keeps rolling her eyes at me I still don’t see what could
go wrong…

OK OK You can have your cookies back as soon as I rebuild… Not sure what possessed me to hire a Pengiun and Walrus to run my boilers… Just glad no one was seriously injured in the inferno…
i bet they have a few hours of fuel oil in them.
