***Out of Character***
This event is a 100% Roleplay Event and NOT a play music and dance event. It is being organised to allow people to meet in character and discuss business in character. It does not all have to be about business, the weather may be discussed. It’s an open RP event so feel free to start chatting up everyone, but please be respectful.
There is nothing grand expected , no explosions, monsters, evil doctors or mutant vegitables. Simply meeting, greeting and discussing the finer points of New Babbage life and the potentials for business connections.
Mornington wakes up to the sound of the painters shouting at each other as they walked past his house in Academy…
On the stroll up to Brunel, he smelled the faint smeel of Egg’s and Bacon, it looks like the painters had managed to talk the Chef into cooking them breakfast again. He rushed up and grabbed a plate of Bacon and Eggs and then sat down to read the morning mail.
“Hmmm… whats this? A ‘Trade Fair’?”
“Sounds like I’ll need to show up for that…watching a bunch of businessmen try and take advantage of the underclass of the city, should be an interesting discussion if anything…”
With that… Mornington folded up the flyer and put it in his pocket.
Dr Falcon looked at the poster someone had stuck to Unit #6 while he was sleeping…
“Interesting! Maybe I could use this meeting to demonstrate the advantages of aetehric power!”.

Miss Psaltery put down her broom to listen to some chatter in the hotel lobby. A Trade Fair? Perhaps the builders’ gaffer would not need her help while it was on. It would be nice to ditch the apron and workdress to put on finery once more and pretend to be a successful businesswoman. In any case, so far, she had managed not to be seen by Mr. Mornington while working for the builders, and for some reason did not wish his lasting impression of her to be one of smudges and paint.
Maku frowned at the newly posted bill, so fresh, the glue was not yet dyed with soot. “A trade fair indeed?” he mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. He would have to discuss this with Mr P. at some point, with especial reference to how it could advantage some of their rather… shelved… projects. Offering games and tests of prowess upon the seaside was all well and good, but the best businesspeople know when to… ah… return to their roots.
Money is more than a little tight, Professor Valeska incommunicado off visiting with the Prussians and not available for advice, Pilipo Underwood wonders if the poster in front of him is an opportunity. The new Tono-Bungay seems to be working well enough on rats and stray cats and such. If it matches expectations it will go very much in demand. But he needs more investors; and there will be the most important and influential authorities and capitalists in the Sooty City and miles around attending this Do. They could be pursuaded to pitch in some petty cash.
Also, in the back of his mind, the idea forms, perhaps a bit sinister but rationalizable as pragmatic, that urchins could be well suited for the upcoming extensive human trials. They are young and resilient, and should tolerate a wide range of formulations. There is really no danger, after all, because nothing fatal was ever determined in the earlier formulation by Messrs Ponderevo and Ponderevo. There was just the one annoying property of, well, some loose mouthed individuals claimed ‘habit forming’. That is not so bad.
Underwood, in his idiosyncratic cross-arm, chin stroke, foot pat stance, forms some plans and notions …
Setting up at the trade fair…
