Jed and Kimika’s Saturday Drive

Yesterday Jed completed work on her general purpose roving and cargo-hauling machine. She refered to it as a J.E.E.P., but I don’t recall the meaning of the acronym.

We took it for a spin (literally at some points) across town, through the recently fallen snow. Jed was driving while I rode shotgun – and hung on tight.

Passing Lia’s clock shop.

Driving through the Port, passing a dock-side pub.  Judging by the sign it looks like it could be a rough establishment – probably popular with sailers and airship crews.

Oops.  It took a while to extracate ourselves after hitting that big patch of ice.

It’s several kilometers to Palisade, we have a full boiler, half a bottle of absinthe, it’s snowing and we’re wearing sunglasses.

Testing the vehicle’s handling in the snow.

Motoring about (and turning doughnuts) in the Greenspace.

I highly reccomend Jed’s vehicle – it passed the Rigors of Babbage test!

Spread the love

Thank you for this, and thanks for coming along hon.  I need to purchase a better camera, as your pictures are much better than mine.

Don’t mind the scuffs on the column Scotty.  I’ll send someone by to buff those out.

Yes, I’m sure there’s someone can get those buffed out… *starts looking for Sky*

As for your acronym, perhaps it was something like, “Jumps Excitedly in Every Pothole”, “Just Empty Every Pocket”, or “Jinxed Engine has Extra Parts”?

*sees Scottie approach with “that look”* I swear if this has anything to do with cleaning you’ll be in a world of hurt.

        ………….

Stand right here, just one moment… *goes to her arsenal and pulls out a large bat, hiding it behind her back, grinning madly*

*carefully reconsiders and thinks the scuffed look will work out okay after all*

I’m howling.  You have revived my enthusiasm for the eternal spirit of the Babbage Engineers.  Sing me up to buy TWO!  And as if passing reference to a future-vehicle acronym as well as one of my most favored of Disneyland rides wasn’t enough, you had to Blues Brothers it up:

It’s several kilometers to Palisade, we have a full boiler, half a bottle of absinthe, it’s snowing and we’re wearing sunglasses.

Thank you thank you thank you.  Keep it up. Babbage needs brave spirits like Kimika and Jed.  *applauds*
