Well as most of you know my
manufactured gas plant started in Wheatstone back on the sprocket
days, and underwent a major expansion while there. A few years ago it
moved to the Palisade and expanded again. It has resided in the
Szusterworks Plant No.2 since then. But without my pretty Gasometers
and competition from cheaper gas being pumped in from other steam
lands I am retiring the gasifing equipment and contracting with
other utilities. So you will still be able to get yourself a gas
meter for old time’s sake but alas the retorts will be going cold.
Another mighty engine of industry grinds to a halt. This is not good.
I’m very sorry to hear this, sir.
Gats, I’m sure that while the passing of the gasworks will leave a void in town, I also have no doubt that the next project of Szusterworks will give us all something to be proud of.
“the passing of the gasworks”
Bah-dah-bing! (Jimmy chuckles.)
But yes, a sad development, but also looking forward to Mr. Gatsby’s next move.
Have to admit I enjoy the tag for Gatsby’s gasworks group: “I’ve got gas!”
Oh fear not Babbagers! My factory is going no place! I will use the new space to expand into new industries! As always what could possibly go wrong?
Umm Jimmy, urchin limbs grow back after industrial accidents, right?
“Umm Jimmy, urchin limbs grow back after industrial accidents, right?”
Ask Nat Mr. Gatsby.
Aww, Mr. Gatsby! I am sorry to see the gas works go, but I do understand. I suppose I will convert the wiggyfish cannery cooker to burn coal.
well, we gots something kinda massive in there now, hehe. I kinda hope it gets to be part of the new build.
