Footman’s log, June 8th 18xx

Ouch.

I had been talking with Tenk when he had to leave for dinner, heading to my plant, I failed to notice the trolly right away, and found myself swatted a few dozen meters down the tracks. After checking to see that yes, both legs had been broken, possibly some ribs, I took one of the emergency srynges from my armband and jammed it in my chest, below the heart chamber, finally feild testing the serum I suppose.
I managed to heal enough to stand up and make my way to my lab, it was slow going as my femurs simply were not holding my weight. Eventually I made it to the plant, the pengi’s helping me to the basement, where I got to work resetting the bones, and prepping another infusion.
It took a few hours of resting on my couch, but the bones did soon heal enough to support my weight. I consider the improptu feild test a success…

now if I can just figure out what is going on in the graveyard, another tomb’s been found in peices

another unprovoked trolley attack…. though maybe they know something about what’s happening in the graveyard, and are trying to "cut off the source" of the problem?

Good lord! This serum you talk of is a wonder! Would it be available for wider distribution? I ask as there have been a spate of accidents down at the canning factory and the poor fishermen at shanghai docks have a terrible safety record – your serum could help save many lives!

I may be overstepping the limits of my knowledge here, but I don’t think it would work on most people. Mr Footman has a somewhat peculiar physiology.

As to the trolley. Well, in light of what happened last night there is the possibility, and I speculate here, that it may be the work of hostile forces.

((I have posted the first part of the tale and will post the remainder later this evening or tomorrow.))

Miss Anatra is right, Mr Beck…the serum has been tried on other subjects and was a failure on all. It’s never been successfully used on another person.

Never.

Ever.

Yes, yes. Grand idea. Ask the slightly mad, often misguided, amoral genius to release his "serum" for use amongst the general populace. "What could possibly go wrong?"
