It had been such a wonderful day, yesterday. I went to a few classes at the linguistic academy last night and then made my way to the new exhibit where Mr. and Mrs. Melnik were looking at the new raptor exhibit. I think it looked much better with the feathers, much less intimidating. Mr. Melnik said that the claws would have still been dangerous, but it’s not like it’s real so I don’t need to worry about that. As an exhibit, I think the feathers are much better!
Miss Jedburgh joined us and we had a wonderful time talking about clockwork chicken fights until they had to leave. I did catch up with them later though and a whole party of us went to see the exhibit one more time. Miss Junie and Jedburgh and some lady I hadn’t met yet named Kenna, who it seems has an unfortunate reputation as a klutz as everyone was worried she’d break everything in the museum just by touching it, went to see the raptor again.
It was still a great time, but there was a horrible smell that hadn’t been there before. I couldn’t recognize what it was, though someone thought it was a molded sandwhich or other food. I’ve smelt those before and it didn’t smell like anything they thought it might be…
But that aside it was still an exciting night, and I could swear that I caught a picture of the raptor blinking! I’m going to have to develop those, but I’m out of the fluid I need to do that. I should have them done sometime this weekend maybe.
A few more friends showed up, nice people wearing a few interesting costumes, and then everyone left except me and Miss Elleon because I wanted to ask her more about the museum.
This morning however I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather. Maybe I caught a cold from the changing weather already…I’m going to have to start wearing warmer clothing. I made it to the newest display that Miss Elleon had said she was going to move in today, but it’s leaking a bit which is very gross. When I left the museum again I was feeling quite warm and rubbed my head, and a pit of my fur came off on my paws and sleeves. On top of it all I’m shedding? Well, if it gets much worse I could always go to the hospital or any of my doctor friends. No need to worry them about a silly cold just yet though.
Oh, Pippy! I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling ill this morning. I would love to see your pictures when they’re developed. My eyes were playing tricks on me before the end of our visit to the museum as well.
But my nose wasn’t. Whatever it was stinking up the place, it was rank. (Frankly, I think Ms. Elleon needs to hire a better janitor.)
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to aid your recovery. I make a mean Vernian gumbo that’ll cure what ails you.
*thinks*
Or perhaps kill you. One or the other.
On second thought, maybe I’ll just make you a “get well soon” card.
Dear Pippy,
I was just on my way out of town when I heard you were feeling a bit under the weather. I hope you’re feeling better soon. See you in about a month. If you imbibe, I’ll treat you to a drink up at Brunel Hall… on Vic.
Sincerely, Emerson Lighthouse
