I don’t know if there is a law about this but I would expect dueling in Babbage to be illegal. But when people gather in a field for “absolutely not a duel” this is probably the way it goes.

Reckon dueling in the city were banned after the 176x one where two inventors used their own weapons an leveled several City blocks….. Them as still can’t work stuff out goes outside the City walls now, an i wish they would move further out, cus they fights way too early an too close ter me camp!
Tepic might have just earned himself the chore of writing an article on the incident that banned dueling forever for the archives.
You know, you’re missing out on a great money-making opportunity here. Just think, you could rent out space as a place for conducting these little “social gatherings,” and thus restrict them to “appropriate” times of day. Win-win as far as I can see.
dueling ‘in’ the city may be illegal, but what about a few hundred, maybe thousand, feet above the city?
Then you have the issue of things falling onto the city below from the loser and their ship.
