Contest: A New Babbage Poster for Caledon Oxbridge

It is my pleasure to announce a Contest for the creation of a Poster. The winner, to be selected by popular vote, will receive a L$3000 prize and the honor of having their poster displayed at Caledon Oxbridge University!

As most of my fellow NBers are aware, Oxbridge is a gateway into Second Life. Each week, hundreds of newcomers pass through its hallowed halls on their way to the Steamlands or points beyond. For almost two years, the poster shown below has been prominently displayed on a campus billboard which passes out a Landmark and a Notecard touting the wonders of our sooty city.

Oxbridge Sponsorship Poster

It’s time for a change. It’s time for a new poster. I am looking for something that will catch the eye and excite the imagination, yet convey the essence of New Babbage. Oxbridge is probably the highest traffic area in all the Steamlands. This is our opportunity to market New Babbage to a large impressionable group who are looking for places to visit, explore and settle.

The billboard and the current poster are here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Caledon%20Oxbridge/91/194/27

Entries must be submitted to Marion Questi not later than midnight SLT, April 17.

I have tried, Miss Carver, but the Event Listings appear to be hors de combat.

I do not approve of those kind of women in combat.

Mr. Steadman Kondor was kind enough to bring to my attention that I was mistaken about the aspect ratio.  The sponsorship display was rebuilt a few months back and the size of the billboard was altered.  I didn’t pay much attention at the time, but the aspect ratio is no longer 2:1.  The billboard is now about 4.8 m high x 2.8 m wide, so the aspect ratio is closer to 12:7.
