Bar Wars II: Attack of the Clowns

Emerson scratched his head in puzzlement while Junie’s face reddened at the sign announcing the closure of the Gangplank. She sputtered curses until he gently chastised her for using dock-worker language, and, after standing together quietly for some minutes, she left abruptly to enter the bar. A few moments later she returned with a hammer and some nails.

Emerson squinted at her suspiciously. “Where are you off to?” he asked.

“I have an idea. This…” she said as she waved her hand disdainfully at the sign from Ahab’s, “cannot go unanswered.”

After calling in a favor from a typesetter at the Steamweaver Printery, she walked toward Ahab’s Bane to deliver the Gangplank’s response to such effrontery.  After nailing some printed material to the door there, because she was feeling proactive, she made a stop in Academy as well.
