       I have no idea, I was googling for pictures of the Grand Palais in Paris and found this and a

      few more. Must be some show of early aircraft I suppose.

    Well, one of the signs engenders curiousity.  I understand references to manufaturing companies, but there was one called “Gnome” ?

      They made rotary engines for aircraft, as I recall. The Gnome engine was the dominant design in early aircraft for some time. They were strange engines by today’s standards. The engine body rotated carrying the prop with it rather than rotating the crankshaft.
