A Letter from Ravila

Dear Dominic,

Brother Miguel was very unsettled by the presence of your friends. He is never wrong.

Be careful.

-Paul.

“Something wrong, Dom?”

Brother Rudyard observed Brother Lapis holding an open letter uncertainly towards the hearth, then watched him as he changed his mind and folded it back into the envelope.

“No, Rudy, just needed more light,” Lapis sighed.  “Paul sends greetings.”

Rudyard nodded slowly. “How are things back home?

“The usual. Nothing new.” Lapis brooded for a few moments more while Rudyard studied him for signs of his tells.

Lapis looked up suddenly. “What is the local game here?”

Rudyard shrugged. “Yarble? Wild geese? Something indigenous I have never heard of?”

Lapis nodded thoughtfully. “I would like to lead a hunting expedition for the fall for the students. Crossbows. Do you think that will be a problem?”

“I don’t see why not. They might enjoy that. I do hope you are thinking of the older ones?”

“Of course,” said Lapis.

Spread the love

Unsettled? Sky and I are unsettling? What did we do? Aside from inadvertantly jumpstarting a war. We were just trying to bring Ravilan Wine to the thirsty masses of New Babbage, you know…

*attempts to look as innocent as possible*

You appearing innocent is akin to Tenk appearing tall…

((No offense intended, Clockwinder… *grin* ))
