    Ship expo and shipbuilding will be moving to Port Babbage & Clockhaven. I’ll act as harbormaster and keep an eye on the prims.

    Shipbuilders Exhibit * Submarine Race * Windjammers Race * Epic Ironclad Battles * Tall Ship Battles * Naval Review *  Uniform Ball

    SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11

    * Shipbuilders’ Expo and Shipbuilding Contest Begins

    >> Shipbuilders offering nautical vessels and supplies from the Age of Sails, the Age of Steam and and the Age the Never Was will have displays along the piers and wharves of Clockhaven and Port Babbage (New Babbage), offering their wares to the Public. The best vessels will be awarded trophies, and the public may vote on their favorites throughout the week.

    * Tall Tales and Outright Lies: Stories of the Sea, Armada 6:30-7:30 PM SLT

     >> Join the fun as regular folk and pirate scoundrels relax and swap stories. Got an amusing tale for us? A sea adventure, or legends of lost treasure? Whether you listen or share, you’re bound to have a great time!

    EVENTS  

    THURSDAY NOVEMBER 15, 

    * Iron Melee, 5PM SLT, BLAKE SEA

    >> An epic naval skirmish featuring the navies of the steamlands, slugging it out on the open ocean. Events will include:

    1) King (or Queen) of the Hill.  Your basic free-for-all. Last ship standing wins. 20 minute time limit.

    2) Fleet Action. Based on a set of rules beiong prepared by New Babbage Commodore Jedburgh Dagger, taking into account points and ship numbers. The idea is to balance “big ship” and “mosquito ship” classes and everything in between.

    FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16 (FINAL TIMES AND DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED)

    * Windjammer Race>> Tall ships and wind-powered vessels to compete in this yachting race around the sailing field, before cheering crowds gathered on viewing stands. Trophies will be on hand for the winners. SL wind powered class and non-SL wind powered class will compete in different events
    * Submarine Races>> The finest submariners – and their daring mechanical marvels – will line up to compete against each other in this underwater tournament. The Public won’t want to miss this epic event grid-wide famous for its underwater dirty tricks. Appropriate dress is encouraged.* Competitors are invited to test the race field in the days before the event

    FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16

    * Armadan Turtle Racing, 5PM SLT
    >> Armada’s famous race returns for fleet week . Take one of our partially mechanized remade turtles and race through an obstacle course full of spike, fire, axes and explosives. All are welcome to test their piloting abilities, or come and watch the show.

    * Buccaneer’s Bash in Armada Breakaway! 7-9PM SLT
    >> Come join the pirates of Armada as we have our after action party for the fleet week races and battles. Non pirates are of course welcome as well.  (As an interesting note of history the term buccaneer originally referred to people who used bucans, small wooden grills popular in a few Caribbean islands. In honor of this our own Ceejay Writer will be grilling on the deck for the party. We may have one or two other surprises set up for the guests.)

    SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17

    * Fleet Review, 1PM SLT>> The state-based navies of the Steamlands, in their finest regalia, proceed on a course taking them past reviewing stands in Port Babbage and Clockhaven Harbor, New Babbage. The Public is invited to attend.
    * Uniform Ball at Piermont Landing , 6PM SLT.>> The public is invited to attend a inter-Steamland nautical-themed Ball hosted by Breezy Carver at Piermont Landing in New Babbage. Naval uniforms for officers and sailors are encouraged. Shipbuilding awards and race winners will be honored.

    I think I have the Aether Chrononauts, Armada Breakaway and New Babbage calendars updated now, but please yell at me if you see something amiss.

    Hope to see you at various events during Fleet Week!  I’ll be hosting Tall Tales and Outright Lies, and burning some sort of meat substance for your enjoyment at the Buccanneer’s Bash!

    Ironclad Fight Night News

    I am proud to say that your own New Babbage Naval Squadron won the fleet action last night, and your humble correspondant was the Last (Wo)Man Standing in the Free for All.

    Many thanks go out to all the spectators who came out to watch the fights, and a special thanks go to Robin Sprocket and the Blakes Seas Battle Group for making it all happen.

    The next events I am aware of that are actually set are Turtle Races in Armada at 5pm slt. Can you survive the death course???  :) followed by the Buccaneer’s Bash at 7pm slt, also in Armada. I cooked food! And a rum cake!
